Google scours the internet for instances of your business such as your Google + listing, your website, other business directory listings (Yelp), etc. That information is cataloged and referenced for your business. Check out the video below of our SEO Manager, Evan, as he discusses this in more detail below. VidWEO - What is NAP?Description: NAP is one of the most important concepts for Dental SEO. This VidWEO tells you everything you need to know about your NAP and how it affects your search ranking. The key is that all of the information about your business should be consistent. The NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) is the term we use for this information. The more consistent your NAP is online, the more confident Google is that you're a viable entity and therefore you're worth sending search traffic to your site. It doesn't stop at name though, punctuation, spelling, and abbreviation are all key as well. Everything needs to match exactly. For instance, if you capitalize something in one place, it needs to be capitalized in all places - Happy Smiles vs Happy smiles. If you say NW Elm Street in one location it can't be NW Elm St. in another location. If this is a project you'd like to tackle for your practice, we suggest starting with some of the more well known sites such as Google+, Facebook, and Yelp. Make sure those three entities are consistent then tackle the other places your listing appears until they are all exactly matching. When you sign up for an enhanced or premium SEO package with WEO Media, we do the leg work to make sure all of this information is consistent. It can be a laborious process because this information can reside on so many different entities and each one will need to be contacted to update your listings. But the reward of updating your listing and getting your NAP consistent will outweigh the time invested by bringing you new site traffic and new patients! |
